Dr. Sailendra Narayan Goswami
Dr. Sailendra Narayan Goswami is currently the independent consultant in the field of Agriculture,Natural Resource Management and Livelihood for Government of Assam ,Government of Meghalaya, NABARD and NGOs. He was the Ex-Vice Chancellor of Techno Global University Shillong, Meghalaya. He was also the Professor in University of Science and Technology Meghalaya. Prior to this he was the Principal Scientist and Head of ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, North Eastern Regional Centre, Guwahati, Assam. Previous to this, he held the positions of the Principal Scientist of the ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning, Nagpur ,Maharashtra. Earlier, Dr. Goswami was the Senior Economist at ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya. His areas of research include farming systems ,natural resource management, land use planning,livestock economics, fishermen’s livelihood, risk and uncertainty in agriculture and climate change. Dr. Goswami also associated as the Co-Principal Investigator of Government of India funded National Projects namely, Land Use Planning for Management of Agricultural Resources and Efficient Land Use Based Farming Systems for Rural Livelihood Security in Aurangabad ,Dhule and Gondia Districts of Maharashtra and District Level Contingent Crop Planning for Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Goswami is the recognized Ph.D guide of several universities.. He is also the Ph.D thesis Examiner of several universities. He also actee as Expert Member in the selection committee meetings of scientists in the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board,New Delhi and teaching staffs of several universities. Dr. Goswami authored four books and published more than 100 research papers in national and international journals. He is the reviewer of several national and international Journals like Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics,Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences,Indian Journal of Animal Sciences,African Journal of Agricultural Research,Journal of Scientific Research and Report,Science Domain International London, International Green Journal,Lagos,Nigeria.He is the receipents of several awards from Scientific Societies, Research organization like ICAR,ICSSR etc.
